Orange Beer/Moving Day!
A couple of quick notes. Saturday the Angela and I went shopping for presents. I know I've said this in the past, but I love Christmas. I like buying neat things for people. The Angela is not as keen on it, I think she worries about getting people things they won't like.
Sunday I woke up bright and early to the sound of the wind howling outside. High wind advisory has been up for around the last 30 hours, but allegedly it gets lifted soon. I was about business, trying to get the new beer bottled before the DND session that afternoon. Point the first, my new auto-siphon worked like a dream to empty the huge glass bottle, I think it even managed to pick up less sediment from the bottom of the tank. Point the second, the beer is orange.
Now, probably NOT what you're thinking. Not some wholesome brownish orange that one might expect to clarify to some reasonable beer color. Bright, day-glo, Sunkist style orange. The reason for this is obvious, light malt extract (yellowish, to yellow-brown) + raspberry puree (dark red, to purplish) = orange. Just didn't expect this particular SHADE of orange. Oh well. If people can get past the color, I think they'll like it. I sampled the wort a little (as I always do, only real way to check that it's okay) and I think this will be really good.
The second note here is that contact is going to be a little sporadic coming up. I'm going to try to move office today, which in fact entails SPLITTING office as half my stuff moves across the complex, and the other half moves across the site. That and we fly out for Dallas on Saturday.
