    Time Event
    9:44a
    We have tried the beer.
The beer was pronounced ready for the refrigerator early yesterday morning. I placed a six pack of 16-oz. bottles for proper chilling before consumption. Three people tested, myself, the Satish and OriginalGreg.

One beer. That's about all it took.
Now in my defense, this is NOT the most alcoholic beer I've ever had. That title goes to Unibroue, which is made either somewhere in Canada, or perhaps one of the deeper levels of hell, in either case, places where anasthetic is needed severely. However, this was probably the hardest beer I have MADE.

    So what do I think?

Carbonation: A. Nice and uniform, decent head, though not the white foam of Guinness, more gold-brown colored.

Scent: B. Confusing. It is a definite that you can smell the roasted barley and the hops in the the beer's bouquet. This conflicts with the taste. I also get the cidery overtone of chlorine, which I claim that I don't understand given I used bottled water, and no chlorine bleach this time. Le sigh. Could have something to do with the fact that these were in plastic bottles (the majority are in glass).

Taste: B. Stoutlike, though with a dark-ale overtone, which tends to confuse one. Is it a stout? Is it an ale? I don't know why I'd know, since it doesn't seem to.

Sediment: C. There is a LOT of it in each bottle, and some of it is quite obviously hop leaves. Something will have to be done in the future about the hops.

So...all in all, good proof of concept for the first beer. Next one I want to make a little bit lighter though, and maybe less alcoholic? Though it is neat to just hand people a beer and then watch them sway around.
