Yowza.
The weekend flew by. Half was spent plotting the Call of Cthulu game, the other half running it.
Sunday was game day, I had four players, for a game designed for 4-6. I really don't think I could have expected much more out of them. They successfully solved the mystery, and got almost the best ending possible. The game went from around 1:20p when I handed out the character sheets, to around 7:30p when we were wrapping up the endgame, and I answered questions concerning the remaining mysteries they didn't get to. Pretty cool.
I was a LITTLE bit (only a little) disappointed at how the characters were portrayed, I thought I had really loaded them up with some real possibilities for conflict and personality, but it was short notice, and a short game. And that's the way it goes. Overall I'd say it was a success.
A little Monday Morning Physics for you, check out:

for the latest of your tax dollars at work. Pay close attention to: "Measurement of the Cross Section for W Boson + Photon Production", which is much of my work over the last six months.
I also point out that there were something like four analyses in review for Moriond EW. One of them got approved. Yet more proof if you needed it, that I rule. This does however leave me somewhat high and dry as far as the poster session on Wednesday for the DOE review. I'll have to think of something. At any rate, at least I've made good on a promise I made way back in September. In a fit of hubris, I said in a talk to the Electroweak group that the WGamma analysis would be ready for Moriond or I would be standing up there again telling them why it wasn't. Probably no one remembers but me, but at least I know I did it.
